AAHSA Idea House Features Digital Door Viewer Distributed by HTS
The AAHSA “Idea House”, a 2,600 foot one-of-kind model home featuring new technologies and innovations that help seniors remain independent and improve their quality of life, was constructed at McCormick Place in Chicago as part of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging's (AAHSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition held November 9-11. HTS and FirstView Security demonstrated how FirstView’s Digital Door Viewer replaces traditional door peepholes with an electronic video system delivering an on-demand, high quality image of the view outside the door. With the Digital Door Viewer residents can stand away from the door at arm’s length and still see a large, clear image of who is at the door. The DDV is easy to use even for persons in a wheelchair. The Idea House was visited of thousands of AAHSA Expo attendees, received extensive print, electronic and television media coverage and was toured by U.S. Assistant Secretary for Aging Kathy Greenlee.
